Take a self-guided tour along the Magnolia Trail, and maybe you'll run into a celebrity! The Magnolia Trail was made famous by TV personalities Chip and Joanna Gaines of HGTV's "Fixer Upper" fame. The city of Waco created the trail in response to demand from fans of the duo. You'll find their restaurant and many shops that are mentioned on the show when you take the tour. And if you don't run into the couple, you can always take a picture with a life-sized cutout of them at the Visitor Information Center.
If you're a fan of the Dr. Pepper soft drink, you won't want to miss the Dr. Pepper Museum and Free Enterprise Institute for the history of the sweet and peppy beverage. Located in a 1906 bottling factory, the museum covers everything there is to know about Dr. Pepper as well as even competing brands. Before you leave, make sure to stop at Frosty's Soda Shop to have a hot dog topped with Dr. Pepper Sauce and a cold beverage from the soda fountain just like it was made in the olden days.
Waco is a town that's full of surprises. It's forward-looking while keeping an eye on its past, and it blends the past and present together to create a town with character and charm. You'll find lots to do and enjoy while you're in town.

Texas Ranger Museum, Baylor University and old buildings scattered throughout the town. It has a touch of Austin's aged quaintness if you look around.

The location was great, it is around a lot of gas stations and food places.
We were there for work. My husband is Santa and was working a Christmas Market at the Convention Center. I had an injured foot. So neither of us were able to experience Waco as tourists. It seems a laidback, smallish country town.
We enjoyed visiting Shops at Magnolia and taking the tour of the Mammoth National Monument. Lots of good places to eat - Brazos Landing, La Fiesta Mexcian Cafe, George's and Vitek Barbecue.
It is around every eating joint you can imagine.
The area the hotel was located in was very nice and clean. I enjoyed the walking trail that connected to different hotels and restaurants, and the pond in the middle provided great scenery.

We have been there many times. Texas Ranger Museum, Dr. Pepper Museum and a place called the Homestead Ranch right outside of town.
This location is close to the suspension bridge and just across the street from the Convention Center. Waco has come into their own as a tourist location.
Nice location.
The restaurant "La Fiesta Restaurant" is a gem and a must visit! Also, shopping in the area was ideal.
Waco was just another city to me though the fact that everything you need is 15 mins away no matter what was really great for a visitor.
We loved the Silos!
Lots to explore in Waco! The Silo district is the cherry on top!

Our kids enjoyed the Texas Ranger museum.
Our busload of women came to see Magnolia Market--they loved it. Some rode the trolley and loved seeing downtown Waco. Some went to the Waco Suspension Bridge & the Cattle Drive statues by the bridge. We loved dinner at Ninfa's Mexican restaurant too.
Magnolia Market is why we came awesome Ninfa's Mexican Restaurant was great.
We had a very good stay at the Quality Inn & Suites South, in Waco, Tx. The staff was very kind and helpful. The rooms were clean and odor free. The breakfast may not be what you would eat at home but, a very good breakfast with a good variety to pick from.
The Waco Convention Center is an ideal venue for an event that brings together almost 1000 high school students from all over the state. Plus the convenience of all the nearby restaurants both fast food and sit down service.
I was born and raised in Waco, so to me it's obviously my home sweet home. Nonetheless, Waco is growing to where you can do a little bit of everything for all ages, yet small enough so that you can get across town within 15 to 20 minutes.
Twisted root burger and George's. Two great places to eat.
Twisted Root Burger and George's Cafe near Baylor University were amazing!
I loved the view of the Brazos river and the cattle drive sculptures. I would like to have spent a little more time there. I was also on the lookout for postcards but had trouble finding them about Waco itself. Due to the recent rains, several of the stops to see the lake were also closed.
Visited the Waco Zoo. It was fun!
Friendly people, easy to get around, and a nice city to live in.
Cameron Park is a beautiful asset!
Baylor University was such a treat. Both the staff and students were amazing to our kids.
I loved visiting the Dr. Pepper Museum, ate great Mexican food at Chuy's and also enjoyed Rudy's for BBQ. There is lots more here to explore if we visit again.
