The Crete center point is about the area of Chrissi Island and 10 miles east of Arkadi Monastery.
Crete is the largest of the Greek Islands with a fascinating mix of sunny beaches and rocky mountains. I had to rent a car because of the distance between the airport and hotel and recommend it so you get the opportunity to see all the different landscapes of the island. My favorite meal in Crete was in the small fishing town of Elounda, where we feasted on stuffed grape leaves, hummus, baba ghanoush and Greek salad right next to the harbor.
