Owings Mills got its start around the year 1700 when pioneers arrived in the area. One of those pioneers, Samuel Owings, built three mills near Gwynn's Falls, which is why the town ultimately took the name of Owings Mills. Ore mining was a significant business in the community throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, as was farming.
Despite its humble beginnings, Owings Mills has grown to become a major suburb of Baltimore, offering a range of services, including businesses and housing, to Maryland residents. It is also home to prominent shopping centers, including the Owings Mills Town Center, which is popular with both visitors and residents alike. Owings Mills provides easy access to Baltimore via the Northwest Expressway, the Baltimore Beltway, or the Baltimore Metro Subway.
Whatever your reasons for choosing Owings Mills as your home base for exploring Baltimore, it is important that you find the right hotel that allows you to experience everything this vibrant area has to offer.
