Brighton, a beautiful community situated on the shores of Lake Ontario, boasts a humid continental climate with four distinct seasons. Summers can be hot and humid, with temperatures reaching up to 79 °F, while winters can be cold and snowy, with temperatures dropping as low as 11 °F. This climate creates a perfect environment for a range of outdoor activities year-round. Brighton experiences frequent lake-effect snow, a phenomenon that occurs when cold arctic air moves over the warm waters of Lake Ontario, picking up moisture and forming clouds that create heavy snowfalls in the area. This often leads to above-average snowfall in Brighton and the surrounding areas. In addition to the snow, Brighton is known for its frequent wind gusts. The winds coming off Lake Ontario can gust up to over 56 mph, making it challenging to enjoy outdoor activities. The town is a great destination to visit between May and September. During this period, visitors can experience the town's picturesque setting and enjoy various outdoor activities. In May, the flowers bloom, and the weather starts to warm up. July and August are the warmest months, with plenty of sunshine, perfect for exploring the lakefront, beaches, parks, and trails. September is also an excellent time to visit, as the fall colors create a stunning atmosphere. Brighton offers a range of activities for visitors, including festivals like Brighton Applefest, as well as shops, restaurants, and galleries to explore. So, plan your trip between May and September to enjoy the best of Brighton.

End of the Thread coffee shop and antiques on Main Street Brighton is our favorite shop to visit in Brighton. Excellent coffee/espresso/sandwiches, etc., and you can wander around or sit in-outside. The antiques fit into modern design, some industrial elements and not pretentious/reasonable prices.
