The first European settler to arrive in what would become Farmington Hills was a Quaker named Arthur Power. He purchased land in the area in 1823 and returned the following year to clear it. The settlement he created was dubbed Quakertown, but a post office was built in 1826 and established with the name Farmington. In 1827, the township of Farmington was officially organized, and the community was incorporated as a city in 1926.
Today, Farmington Hills is home to the only Holocaust Memorial in Michigan. It also boasts a number of nature parks and serves as a major business center for greater Detroit. Whatever your reasons for visiting Farmington Hills, it's important to find the right accommodation that allows you to enjoy everything this wonderful suburb has to offer.
