Located in northern Alabama, Guntersville is known for having long, hot, and muggy summers. The hottest days are from June through September, with average daily temperatures between 80 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. However, summer is the best time of the year to enjoy water activities. Plan a visit in May, June, or October for warm days with less humidity, the ideal weather for visiting any of the community's three public golf courses during your stay.
If you live in a cold and snowy climate, a winter trip to the Deep South may be what you need. Guntersville winters are short and cool. Average daily temperatures from November to February tend to be below 60 degrees, with nighttime lows in the 30s. Be prepared for wet weather anytime as rain falls throughout the year. Snowfall, however, is rare.
