The Rancho Bernardo center is approximately 2 miles north of Arbolitos Sports Fields and 3 miles northeast of Black Mountain Park.
San Diego boasts warm weather year round, which makes Rancho Bernardo a great place to visit no matter the time of year. In spring and fall, you can often find good deals on travel since it's a low season for tourism compared to the summer.
March through May and September through November are ideal periods to plan a trip. You'll find mild weather in the spring along with fewer visitors. Don't expect too much sun, though — there's a good reason San Diego locals have coined the term "May Gray." If you're a fan of flowers, the Coronado Flower Show makes spring a great time for a visit to the area. September through November is another sweet spot for visiting San Diego and Rancho Bernardo. Though crowds stick around into September, the latter part of autumn sees a drop in crowds and prices for accommodations. Fall is also time for many culinary events in San Diego.
Though winter is San Diego's coolest time, it's not terribly cold. You'll still find highs in the 60s from December through February. Sure, it's not an ideal time for a beach vacation, but it's great if you want to escape bitter winter cold elsewhere. You'll also tend to find lower hotel rates in the winter.
Summer sits on the opposite end of the spectrum in the San Diego area. With average high temperatures in the mid or high 70s and lots of festivals to explore, there's plenty to do and see around Rancho Bernardo. It's no wonder that summer is peak tourist season in the San Diego area, so you can expect higher hotel prices. Make sure you book in advance to secure your favorite hotel, so it doesn't sell out if you're visiting in the summer.
