The Punta Cana center is around the area of Punta Cana Intl. Airport and 2 miles southeast of Downtown Punta Cana.
Among the most popular destinations in the Dominican Republic, the city of Punta Cana has some of the best beaches in the area. These beaches are among the top reasons why people travel to the city. In fact, even back in the 1970s, the area is already visited and is quite popular because of these beautiful beaches. Aside from hanging out at the fun places on the beach, travelers can, of course, have fun on the waters as well. Aquatic tours are very popular in this area, with snorkeling also included in the package. The waters are home to diverse marine life that never fails to amaze snorkelers and divers alike. You don't even have to go far from the coast to enjoy these sights as the Marinarium and Seaquarium will both give you a unique way to experience these marine wonders. Most tourists are willing to shell out extra cash to be able to visit Saona Island. It takes a day tour to explore this natural preserve but well worth the extra money spent. If you are lucky, you don't even have to pay for dolphin tours as they will swim alongside the catamaran until you reach your destination.
Below are reviews of the city of Punta Cana, Dominican Republic from an actual visitor's perspective.

Me gustó la experiencia en ojos indígenas, la comodidad de los centros comerciales y las tiendas
A beautiful tropical destination with options for all tastes. Some resorts are family oriented, with activities for kids of all ages, other resorts are adult only, all surrounded by beautiful beaches and many activities beside the resorts, such as scuba diving, ATV trails, paddle boarding and many bars with good food and great Latin music playing all day.
