Waverly features two 18-hole golf courses that are highly rated by duffers. The Prairie Links Golf Course has been rated the No. 1 golf course in Iowa for 2017 and 2018, and it's not hard to see why. It's professionally designed to challenge players of all levels, but it's also a beautiful course that highlights the surrounding landscape. The other golf course in town, the Waverly Golf Course, is a public course and has undergone slight changes through the years to keep it fresh and interesting.
Check out the Bremer County Historical Society situated within the former Daily House Hotel built in 1862. The museum is open from May through October and the public is invited to step inside to view the exhibits and displays. Some of the exhibits include a recreation of a late 19th century school room, the bedroom of a prominent resident from the 1800s, a log cabin room that recreates what the homesteads were like to live in during the pioneer era, and even a women's fashion room. The historical society has other unique and interesting displays making it worth a visit.
If you're visiting during the warmer months, be sure to check out the Butterfly Garden at the Waverly Public Library. The garden was designed to encourage the growth of native plants that attract native species of butterflies. Travel the paths to look for the butterfly eggs, caterpillars, and cocoons. Maybe you'll get to see a butterfly as it finishes its transformation.
Looking for a classic Midwestern bar experience? Head over to The Pour House and sample the offerings on tap. The Pour House is known for its friendly bartenders, great selection of beers and liquors, and just being a great place to sit down and hang out for a while. Waverly is a nice and safe town.
The people were very friendly. I recommend Kwik Step food and employees. I like the location, convenience and ease in accessing other places. I liked having a variety of services and eateries. Basic services, IT, grocery, laundry, gas, car wash and choice of hotels was a plus.
I was here as a vendor for the gun show at the Centre Hall.It is a very nice facility! It is wide as and spacious, as and th ed parking is great! The rest of the town seems nice. It had good grocery stores and restaurants.
Seems like a nice town and I felt safe where I stayed, which is a plus! They have all the necessities. I will visit again.
