The Tavern is a traditional New England that is comfortable and cozy. Rooms are spacious and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Staff extremely friendly and accommodating.

My stay at the Essex was so relaxing, from the moment I arrived I was made to feel extremely welcome and was offered coffee or tea to help me recharge after my long train ride. Everyone there was so kind and the on site restaurants are stellar. Highly recommend the duck!

Property Description
Situated between the Green Mountains and Lake Champlain, this cozy resort is surrounded by 18 acres of landscaped grounds. It's 8.8 miles from the town of Burlington.
The individually decorated rooms all include en suite bathrooms, and have flat-screen TVs and Keurig coffeemakers. Upgraded rooms add fireplaces or kitchenettes. Suites add separate living areas, and some have dining tables and whirlpool tubs.
There are 2 restaurants and an on-site cookery school. There are also tennis courts, access to an adjacent golf course, a spa with indoor and outdoor pools, and a fitness center. Beauty treatments are available (fee).
Your culinary adventure in Burlington begins when you check-in. Fresh baked goods at the Lobby Cafe greet you with delectable sights and smells before you've even gotten your room key. And that's just the start.
