Very laid back. A lot of downtown is very much like the Andy Griffith show. Good food. Nice museum. Different tours you can take. Walleys service station was by far my favorite place to visit. Take a step back in time and enjoy the simpler things in life. Floyd's barber shop was always neat. Got to meet his son and it is a working barber shop where you can get a haircut. Very very nice.
In town for wedding. Mayberry Meadows is a venue in a beautiful setting. Great people to work with.

The event of Mayberry Days. It's like a second hometown to me since 1994. My 28th year so far.

Mt. Airy is a good spot on our travels from Florida to stay since it takes us two days to get home.
Main Street shopping was great. Enjoyed the Mayberry Experience. Friendly town.
City was wonderful and very nice.
We love Mayberry Campground and the Ararat River Trail(we bike & walk it). We also enjoy the shopping (Rees), and the Olympia, Copper Pot & The Depo at Cody Creek (Dobson) restaurants, Lucky Bones and yoga classes, at both the health & community centers. We like the friendly people and the hometown, neighborhood feeling, as well as the beauty and cleanliness of the town. (Would love to find an outfitter for kayak rentals to run the Ararat River during our visits.)
