This is a popular time of year for the snowbirds, who are looking to escape the colder winter temperatures of the northern states and can be a more crowded season with more expensive accommodations. Below are reviews of the city of Maricopa, AZ from an actual visitor's perspective.
The city was very clean and the people were very kind.
The room Was very clean, and the hotel employees were very friendly. It has grown in the last 10 yrs.
It was very pretty.
We used to live in Maricopa. Can't believe how much it has grown. Although it is bigger now, it still has that small town feel, but with almost every amenity you could need. We really miss it. I had never been to the casino before yesterday, it is much nicer that I thought it would be. The bowling alley/movie theater was built right before we left, and it's still a great place to take the family. Awesome to see Maricopa becoming more of a destination.
Golf in this area is a pleasure! Ak-Chin Southern Dunes provided a challenge with lots of sand traps and lightening fast greens. The town itself has great grocery stores - Basha's is terrific. Got my hair done as a walk-in at Wynn Hair & Nails and Tammy did a wonderful job. That being said, all the amenities of a suburban community are available in Maricopa. A nice place to visit. :)
The dog park, the skate/bmx park, Walmart is close as is chipotle and Culver's and lots of other shopping options. I did a crime check of Maricopa and it's half or less of the average In Phoenix. Farm land near by and lots of open desert. Cool place.
