The Madison Heights center is about the area of St John Hospital and 2 miles east of Detroit Zoo.
The Detroit area is a hidden gem for travelers, and Madison Heights provides a great suburban foundation for exploring. Whether you're here on business or for fun, you'll want to plan your trip with tourist trends and weather in mind.
July is the busiest month in Madison Heights, followed by August and June, in terms of tourism. December, on the other hand, doesn't see much tourism, so you're likely to find deals on flights and hotels then.
If you plan a trip in the spring, you'll find moderately cold weather from March through May, with temperatures growing warmer in the latter part of spring. Rain is also not uncommon. It's the second-busiest season for tourism, so you'll find lots of things to do, but you may encounter higher prices for accommodations.
June through August boasts comfortable weather, so it's no wonder that the summer is the busiest tourist season. You'll find that hotels cost more than in other months.
Fall sees cooling temperatures and some rain or snow. Wind and humidity make the temperatures feel even more chilly. Because of the weather, it's not a big time for tourism. You'll find affordably priced hotels if you book from September through November.
Winter is also pretty slow when it comes to tourism. If you travel from December through February, you'll find cold temperatures (highs often fall between the upper 20s and upper 30s) and a fair amount of snow and rain.

Below are reviews of the city of Madison Heights, MI from an actual visitor's perspective.
I love the view, a quiet place to stay.
Clean and close to stores and amenities.
Looked like a very friendly and neighborly place.
Safe, Clean, Comfortable.
Love the Michigan 'left turns'. Outback was delicious! An easy drive to an aunt's funeral. Love to return to see the historic sites - Little Flower Church, etc.
It's cool!
I had surgery at Unasoure Surgery Center; it was easy to get from the hotel to the center.
The city was clean, but we only drove through it and did not visit it. We only stayed at the Red Roof Inn because it was close to down town Detroit. We just needed a clean bed for the night.
