The park continued to grow in size and popularity and in 1997 the town of Mason, Ohio, annexed Kings Island. Today there are several amusement parks, hotels, and restaurants in the area for vacationing families to enjoy. When is the best time to visit the Kings Island area?
The theme parks in Kings Island, Ohio, dominate the scene when it comes to activities. They are open on weekends from April to October and every day from May through August. This makes summer the peak time to visit. It also means, hotel rates will be higher and rooms will be harder to come by. If you are planning a family vacation, start early and you can still find some good deals, even in the summertime.
For families looking for winter fun, there are things to do in the area in the colder months. Beach Mountain offers the chance to go snow tubing from November to February and winter vacationers will find greatly reduced rates on hotels in the area. Plus, there is no better time to try some famous Cincinnati chili than on a cold winter's day.
