Car racing enthusiasts won't want to miss the meets at the Valley Speedway. The dirt racetrack plays host to all types of racing activities including demolition derbies, B modifieds, and stock car races. Meets take place every weekend unless the track is rained out and racing isn't possible.
Located one town over from Grain Valley, Blue Springs is the home of Adams Pointe Golf Club, an 18-hole championship golf course. The course offers plenty of technical challenges for even the most experienced golfers. The front nine holes were designed around the existing wetlands and forest while the back nine offer some of the best views of the area due to the changes in elevation. It's also an environmentally sensitive course that's a certified bird sanctuary and has features that encourage wildlife to find a home there.
Also in Blue Springs is Fleming Park, a place which consists of more than 7,800 acres of parkland open to the public for outdoor activities. The park includes Blue Springs Lake and Lake Jacomo, a setting which accommodates boating, fishing, swimming activities, public campgrounds, nature trails for hiking and biking, a native hoofed animal enclosure, and a living history setting known as Missouri Town 1855. Missouri Town features living history interpreters, buildings, and activities that show what life was like in the region during the mid-1800s.
Grain Valley makes for a great place to stay when exploring the Kansas City region or when in town for a work-related trip. It's a small town full of Midwestern charm and plenty of hotels that suit your needs.
