He used a machine that resembled a lawn sprinkler to manufacture snow. Since then, the twin ski areas have led the way in the Pennsylvania snow sports recreation.
Camelback Mountain Resort has skiing, snowboarding, and tubing in the winter, and the indoor water park is open year-round. During the summer, you can soar in the treetops on a zip line or try the 4,200-foot coaster that flies down the mountain for a stunning view of the scenery.
Pocono International Raceway is a destination spot for NASCAR fans. It's the site of races in June and July and draws other car series such as IndyCar and SCCA throughout the year. In 2010, the raceway became the largest solar-powered sports facility in the world.
