The Canmore center is approximately the area of Centennial Park and the area of Northwest Mounted Police Barracks - 1893 Restored Cabin.
Canmore experiences fluctuations in tourism and hotel rates throughout the year. Canmore is at its busiest during the summer months and during the winter ski season. In the summer, tourists come for legendary hiking, breathtaking views, and gorgeous natural scenery. While the summer months can be crowded, it can be difficult to visit Canmore before May. Many hiking trails are still covered in snow and lakes remain frozen over until late April. For these reasons, most people visit Canmore from June to September, with the majority of the crowds clearing out before the Labor Day weekend. The summer months are the perfect time for fly-fishing, rafting, horseback riding, hiking, camping, and golfing.
In the winter, tourists from all over Canada as well as international cities come to Canmore to experience the Olympic-worthy skiing and snowboarding environment. From December to mid-April, Canmore is buzzing with talk of the best ski slopes, snowshoeing routes, ice-skating, and sleigh rides. Hotel rates are at their highest during the busy winter months.
If you're looking to visit Canmore on a budget, consider visiting in mid- to late September and October. The crowds have likely dispersed by this time and the natural attractions are still impressive and accessible. While the weather may be a bit cool, it's nothing a warm outer coat can't fix. Hotel rates drop after the Labor Day weekend, which means you can save money while still enjoying a lovely mountain getaway.

The Centre was later redesigned for the Cross-Country World Cup in 2005. Upon visiting the Canmore Nordic Centre, you can view the training camps used for Canada's biathlon and cross-country athletes.
The Canmore Nordic Centre has a full calendar of events to keep visitors and athletes-in-training entertained year round. From trail running series to golf tournaments to road races, the facility is always busy. Perhaps the most famous event is the annual Canmore Highland Games, which takes place every year on the Labor Day weekend. The Games include a dance competition, heavy sports contest, piping and drumming competitions, and sheep dog demonstrations. You can also take in the local culture by visiting the clan tents and checking out the Celtic wares and traditional food for sale.
When the Canmore Nordic Centre isn't busy hosting world-renowned events, it warmly welcomes the public to enjoy its many recreational activities. With 37 miles of trail systems designed to challenge even the most experienced international athletes, Canmore Nordic Centre is home to the gold standard in athleticism and natural beauty. Located inside the Provincial Park is the Day Lodge, which features meeting rooms, equipment rentals, recreational lessons, maps and information, locker rooms with showers, and a cafeteria. Come see what made Canmore famous and kept the town thriving into the 21st century.

The amazing mountains.
Canmore has fantastic views no matter what direction you look!
Loved it. Perfect proximity to Banff and everything the Canadian Rockies have to offer.
I like the mountains that seem to protectively but gently embrace the city. The area is quiet and the air clean and stores are conveniently located close by.
Loved the downtown shops. Beautiful scenery.
We enjoyed the walk through the shopping area downtown. A beautiful city in a beautiful setting. We liked the availability of the benches to sit and enjoy the view and rest.

Loved the Canada Day fireworks!
I love Canmore and have been here many times. I love that they now have the downtown shopping area blocked off to cars so people are free to wander without worry. There is lots of parking around the shopping area. Canmore is a great place to visit, surrounded my mountains and so much to do if you want to or do nothing. Whatever works. Everyone is very friendly. Canmore is my favorite place to visit. It's close to Banff and other tourist areas. I simply love Canmore and will be back again soon.
Friendly, family orientated. Good restaurants. Good food store at Save-on. Fair gas prices.
The galleries were good. Avens Gallery was very good.
We actually stay in Canmore for nights and swimming and the rest we went to Banff with the rest of the activities we'd plan.
Great food and vibes!
Best dining experiences! Sauvage, Sage bistro and the Georgetown pub breakfasts were just awesome! Great views.
Beautiful friendly town. Super close to Nakiska for skiing!
Rose and Crown bar, The Drake Inn motel and bar, the Wood restaurant, lots of little shops with souvenirs.
Canmore is an adorable mountain town with helpful and friendly people. We enjoyed dinner at a local pub, the Grizzly Paw Brewing Company, and enjoyed a peaceful walk back to our hotel after. The local bagel company is the best spot for breakfast and the BCLT bagel and chai lattes are more than worth standing in line for.
Hotel is clean, staffs are friendly, good experience.
Easy access to the sites that we wanted to see. At this time of year, the town is not too busy so it was very refreshing.
Canmore is beautiful.
