The Dearborn center is approximately the area of Dearborn Amtrak and the area of Henry Ford Community College.
The weather in Dearborn remains most favorable between June and September. Highs in the 80s and lows in the 50s and 60s will help you get the most enjoyment from your visit without having to layer on sweaters and coats. Plus, the summer welcomes several festivals and other events to Dearborn, such as the fireworks display on the Fourth of July and the Homecoming Festival in August.
Since hotel prices increase during the summer, you might want to consider visiting during the fall or spring if you're traveling on a budget. While the lows might sink into the 40s at night, you'll still enjoy mild weather during the day. Bring plenty of light layers so you stay comfortable while you're enjoying outdoor attractions. Alternatively, spend your time indoors at The Henry Ford and other museums and entertainment venues.
You can stay at one of Dearborn's finer hotels for less if you take advantage of discounts. For instance, the Marriott hotels in Dearborn offer up to 10 percent off for AAA, CAA, and AARP members. You can also shave a few dollars off your bill if you're a senior citizen, active or veteran military service member, or employee of the government. Plus, chain hotels often offer discounts when you book your reservations early or when you reserve 10 or more rooms at a time.
Several of Dearborn's hotels offer plenty of amenities at excellent prices. If you're looking for a venue that offers a middle ground between affordability and luxury, you won't be disappointed. If you combine these low prices with the discounts mentioned above, you can plan an epic vacation in Dearborn without depleting your savings.
Start with the Royal Dearborn Hotel, which also goes under the name Edward Village-Michigan. Rates at this historic venue start at $109 per night, which makes it highly affordable, but you'll get plenty of amenities in exchange. Contemporary furnishings in neutral colors give the impression of a high-end spa from the moment you walk into your guestroom. Smart flat-screen TVs, high-end mattresses, generous work spaces, and free wireless internet all help you enjoy your visit.
Some of the hotel's amenities include a rooftop ballroom, a business center, a gym, a lounge, and a restaurant. Play a round of golf on the on-site course or take a dip in the indoor pool. You can also get your clothes dry-cleaned and enjoy a luxurious Sunday brunch at this hotel.
The Courtyard Detroit Dearborn is another excellent choice when you're on the hunt for value. Rates start between $119 and $169 per night, depending on the season, and it's just down the street from the University of Michigan - Dearborn. Enjoy a free continental breakfast every morning to save money on meals, and take advantage of the in-room sofas, coffee makers, microwaves, and upscale linens. The Courtyard Detroit Dearborn has an on-site fitness center and indoor swimming pool, which includes a convenient whirlpool for relaxing sore muscles. There's also a bistro when you get hungry.
If you're interested in automotive history or history in general, don't leave Dearborn without a visit to The Henry Ford, a museum that combines several buildings and venues into one experience. Take a tour of the Ford Factory, have a bite to eat at the restaurant, grab a souvenir at the gift shop, and see hundreds of fantastic vehicles on display. In fact, the museum exhibits many types of vehicles, from ancient farm equipment to modern-day muscle cars, and not all are Ford cars or trucks.
