The Oxford center is approximately 1 mile southeast of Downtown Oxford and 2 miles northeast of Oxford Baptist Institute.
When you're trying to decide the best time to visit Oxford, keep in mind that the city has a warm and humid climate with hot summers and not much of a dry season. The warm season lasts from the end of May to mid-September. These months experience an average daily high temperature in the lower 80s. If you're looking for a good deal on a hotel room, your best bet is from May to August, when the college students are on summer break. During late summer and fall, rooms fill up quickly and hotels charge higher rates, especially during home football games.
The cold season lasts from the end of November to mid-February, and has an average daily high temperature in the mid-50s. While Oxford doesn't get a lot of snow, it can see an average of 3 inches each year, and most of that occurs in January. While you can find some good hotel deals when the University of Mississippi is on winter break, rates will go up again during the spring semester.
Hotels in Oxford offer discounts that will help you save money on your trip. For example, seniors 65 and older can save up to 10 percent off the best available room rate at Hampton Inn Oxford/Conference Center. Or, if you book your room in advance, you can save up to 15 percent off your rate. Even if you can't take advantage of these savings, the hotel always offers a business center, fitness facilities, an outdoor pool, and a complimentary hot breakfast.
TownePlace Suites Oxford gives qualified military personnel and government employees special rates during their stay. Additionally, if you're 62 years or older you can save up to 15 percent off your room rate. Or, use your AAA or CAA membership to save on room rates, spa treatments, and more. All guests staying at the hotel can take advantage of the free hot breakfast, indoor pool, and 24-hour fitness center. Additionally, all rooms come with a flat-screen television with DirecTV, a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, stovetop, and full-size refrigerator, and free wireless internet access.

Cabin 82 serves Southern classics for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and The Coop is a rooftop terrace and lounge that provides cocktails, appetizers, and light fare.

No matter which hotel you choose, you'll find numerous attractions around the city to keep you entertained. For a bit of Oxford history, take a trip to Rowan Oak, also called William Faulkner House. Originally constructed in the 1840s, this Greek Revival house was purchased by Faulkner in the 1930s. Here the author created many of his works, including his Pulitzer Prize–winning novel "A Fable." Visitors can still see the outline of this novel penciled on the walls of his study.
For some of the best shopping, dining, and nightlife, head to the Historic Square in downtown Oxford. Here you'll find shopping that ranges from large department stores to small boutique shops. When you get hungry, you'll find restaurants serving everything from fusion cuisine to classic Southern meals. Check out the bookstores, art galleries, and antique shops, and then finish your evening with something sweet from a bakery or ice cream shop, and enjoy some live music.
