Things to Do in Dubai
Whether you're in town on vacation or visiting for business, there are plenty of opportunities to get acquainted with this lovely locale. Be sure to hit some of the famed spots - Burj Khalifa, for example, is the tallest tower in the world and lets you take in an intense view of the city from the highest platform on earth, while the Dubai Fountains are a dazzling spectacle that shoots water 500 feet into the air. A visit to the Dubai Museum will expose you to the heritage and traditions of the area through unique exhibits and dioramas. For a first-hand look at the shopping culture of the locals, stop by Deira Souks, a crowded but vibrant marketplace on Sikkat al-Khail Street.
When you're feeling hungry for some authentic Middle Eastern cuisine, make your way to Ravi, a Pakistani eatery that serves up curry, naan and other regional delights. Other local favorites include Shabestan, Bateel and Asha's. You can also catch some sun with a relaxing day on one of Dubai's waterfronts. These are bustling playgrounds where beach games, picnics and jogging take place on the sands, while swimmers and jet-skiers take to the water. Kite Beach is one of the most popular, but for a little more seclusion, head to Jumeirah or Al-Mamzar.
