The San Gennaro Festival, also known as the "Feast of San Gennaro", is an annual event that was begun in 1996 by Figli di San Gennaro, Inc. This organization is a not-for-profit group whose aim is to celebrate and honor early Italian immigrants. Over one million participants flock the streets of Little Italy in New York and also Los Angeles to enjoy a festive atmosphere of ethnic foods, parades, music, and even a cannoli-eating competition.
