The United States Department of Agriculture Building is located at 14th street and Independence Avenue in Washington D.C. At its completion it was the largest office building in the world, with 4500 rooms organized in a corridor grid fashion. Whatever your reason for coming here, transportation to the building is available on the WMATA Metro, or limited parking is available on surrounding streets and in parking garages nearby. While you're not at the USDA Building, you can visit some of the surrounding attractions. The United States Department of Agriculture Building is right across from the National Museum of American History, both between the Capitol building and the Washington Monument in the center of Washington D.C. The Capitol Building offers tours Monday through Saturday, from 8:50 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. Free walking tours are offered by DC Walkabout that cover the Capitol Building and other historic monuments and buildings on Capitol Hill. The Washington Monument offers tours during the summer from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and the rest of the year from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. And the National Museum of American History, along with many of the other museums comprising the Smithsonian, has free admission and hours of 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The United States Department of Agriculture Building is really right at the center of Washington D.C., so anything you could want to see in the city is not far away.
