Just a short way from the port lies the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, a small aquarium in the city of San Pedro open daily. The aquarium has free admission and features several exhibits including a touch tank. Also worth visiting in San Pedro is the Korean Bell of Friendship. Presented by South Korea in 1976 to mark the American bicentennial and as a sign of good will, the bronze bell weights over 17 tons and is one of the largest bells in the world. The plaza also features wonderful examples of Korean architecture and artwork. With Los Angeles just a short drive away there is much to see for those willing to day trip with Hollywood, The Los Angeles Dodger Baseball Team, Downtown Los Angeles, and World Class Griffin Observatory all within an hour's drive even with the congestion of Los Angeles traffic.
