Hotel Whitcomb is a great option for our groups. It has the pretty, historic style that many groups ask for, but at a fraction of the price of many similar options. It is a lovely property, much more unique than many other 3 star hotels. A bit of sacrifice is made on location - this property is not in a fun or interesting neighborhood, and is on a bit of a rough block. However, it is still central to the city, and it is very easy to get to major attractions in just a few minutes via public transportation. Their main ballroom is good for all kinds of events because of the high ceilings, large floor space, and balcony style mezzanine. The seeping rooms have a decent size and good style, and the on-site restaurant is surprisingly delicious. In general, this is a charming and affordable option for many of our groups, that I would definitely recommend.

Property Description

The Hotel Whitcomb is a landmark of early 20th century masterpiece is a favorite-choice among travelers worldwide. The opulent lobby full of old world charm featuring fine Austrian crystal chandeliers, Tiffany glass, Italian marble and Janesero wood paneling. The beautifully appointed guestrooms and parlors suites are enjoyed by both leisure and business travelers alike.In the heart of it all, the Hotel Whitcomb has the distinction of being located in San Francisco''s art/theater district, near some of the city''s finest restaurants, shopping, convention and entertainment venues. Blocks away from Union Square and Cable Cars roundabout, the Hotel is easy accessed to all tourist attractions.The Hotel also features 17,000 square feet of meeting spaces to accommodate different types of convention needs. The Whitcomb Ballroom features many of the original decorations such as the largest parquet dance floor among hotels in San Francisco.
