The best times to visit York are from May through September, when average highs range from 70 to 85 degrees. You'll find ample activities during the warm season and can expect hotel prices to be at their highest during this popular time of the year. Traveling in spring or fall can net you some lower rates if you're OK with high temps in the 50s and 60s. If you happen to be traveling in the winter, you'll enjoy the lowest rates of the year, albeit with temps in the mid-30s to the mid-40s and average lows at or below freezing.
The annual Old York Street Fair is held each year in May on Mother's Day, the National Street Rod Association Street Rod Nationals East takes place in June, and the York Fair is in September. The Harley Davidson Open House, also in September, draws more than 50,000 people a year, with festivities such as the Bike Night parade, tours of the assembly plant, demonstration rides, a skills competition, kids' activities, riding tours, and concerts.

Horatio Gates House, built in 1751, are connected by a shared kitchen and are now a museum operated by the York County History Center. Below are reviews of the city of York, PA from an actual visitor's perspective.
Sorry, wife was in hospital -- that is all that I saw. I was impressed by the services and people at WellSpan York Hospital.
I liked it a lot.
Maple donuts. Convenient shopping. Many restaurants. Fall foliage.
Being close to my 100 year old father who lives at Country Meadows.

The city of York is a fascinating place and they are friendly.
Great eating places and beautiful scenery.
I use this hotel very often.
I was attending the Middle Atlantic District Convention of Barbershop Harmony Society. Everything was accessible (event, hotel, food, etc.).
The show with the Motown group was fantastic.
Very clean and quiet.
Was at York to attend the Train Collectors Association's bi-annual Eastern Division Train Meet at the fairgrounds. Will certainly book at La Quinta in the future (as I have several times in the past) for future trips to this event. Very convenient to the event venue.
Great restaurants!
The Brewery Tour!
I love the City of York because there are many things to see and do plus lots of eateries to try.
Scenic. Charming.
Shopping and restaurants were about two miles away.
My children live in the area so I have stayed in York off and on for many years. The local Convention & Visitors Bureau can direct visitors to a variety of cultural activities provided by local crafters and artisans as well as restaurants, gift shops and if necessary, mechanics, veterinarians, and urgent care doctors!
Very nice town, I traveled the area as I was there for a basketball tournament and every drive was super pretty!
Hotel was very well kept and clean. The restaurants were fast and friendly and had good food. It was a fun weekend. 🌞
Good restaurants. Friendly people. The event was held in a middle school which had very nice facilities for the singing.
We ate dinner at the Fig and Barrel one night and The First Post another night and the food and drinks were excellent at both places!
The rooms are very clean and comfortable with all amenities provided. Fiesta Mexico by the hotel was delicious. Great environment
We were there for the TCA Train Meet.
The old time diners, restaurants and local favorite foods.
My only experience of the city of York on this trip was the Susquehanna Folk Festival held at the York Expo Center. The music at the 2022 festival was EXCELLENT.

BRINGING ME BACK HOME WHERE I LIVED MOST OF MY LIFE AS A YOUNG GIRL & WOMAN. ENJOYING OUR CENTRAL HS 60TH REUNION. THE BEST.
Wasn't here that long but it seems like a nice place.
Very scenic roads once you get out of town.
I can say that I didn't like the city of York at all. Congested and a traffic nightmare every day, all day, and into the evening as well. Horrible engineering on the streets and business access. If you miss your turn it isn't a matter of turning around and going right back, it is a nightmare in most instances. I have never seen more congestion in my life. You couldn't pay me enough to live in York, or Pennsylvania for that matter. The state is beautiful, but the highway system is horrific.
