The Hoard Historical Museum exhibits historic and cultural artifacts from the people that have called the region their home. Walk through the Mysteries of the Mounds to see how the Native Americans once lived their lives. Just south of Fort Atkinson is Indian Mounds Park, home to 11 Native American burial mounds and a trail that offers views of each one. The Woodland Culture built burial mounds as far south as Mississippi. The Indian Mounds Park is part of that extensive network of Native Americans that once inhabited the Midwest long before Europeans arrived.

Fort Atkinson blends country charm with the efficiency of a big city. The rolling hills of crops, the farmhouses, the good manners are all appealing.
