When you're planning your vacation to Grapevine it's important to know what time of year you'll be embarking on your adventure. Getting off work is probably the most important factor in regard to timing, but you should still know the drastic seasonal differences in this city. Different kinds of people will have significantly better experiences in some seasons over others.
Grapevine is in Texas, so you can expect some hot summers. Near the end of July, it's not uncommon for temperatures to approach nearly 100 degrees, so if you don't like the heat it's best to avoid the summer. Be wary of spring and fall as well. While the temperature isn't too hot at those times, the chance of rain increases. If you want to avoid the heat and humidity, head to Grapevine in the winter. Don't worry about the cold too much. Lows won't get near freezing too often, much less surpass it. Highs in January, the coldest month, are still in the mid-50s.
Most people come to Grapevine for the lake, so foot traffic will be heaviest from mid-May to September. Hotel rates will also generally be higher around this time, as it's one of the more popular times to travel here. If you can stand cool air and cold water, however, the winter is still a perfectly viable option for any prospective traveler.
With all that Grapevine has to offer you'll surely be satisfied with your vacation, but you can be satisfied even more when you get a great deal on a hotel room. With numerous hotels offering AAA and military discounts, finding a great deal has never been easier.
Book your stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Dallas DFW Airport North/Grapevine. AAA members get an extraordinary 23% off their normal rates. Here, you'll find a bar and lounge area as well as a fitness center and outdoor pool complete with a spa tub. The location is particularly convenient; as it's within minutes of the Cowboys Golf Course and Grapevine Mills Mall. Grapevine Lake is also nearby, so you can enjoy all the aquatic activities it has to offer.
If you're interested in a more luxurious experience, book a room at the Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center. This hotel offers generous discounts for military service personnel. It is conveniently located near the Grapevine Mills Mall and Legoland Discovery Center, so you have plenty of fun attractions in close proximity. There are outdoor tennis courts, an outdoor pool, and even a health club onsite. There are two dining establishments built into the hotel along with 24-hour room service.
When you plan your vacation you don't have to fully commit to luxury or affordability. There's a wide middle ground in between the best prices and the best quality that might be perfect for the kind of experience you want. Grapevine has more than its fair share of value hotels for travelers that want an unforgettable experience without breaking the bank.
Book your stay at the Hilton Garden Inn for a surprising number of amenities for price. There is a restaurant and bar built into the hotel along with a 24-hour business center and front desk. There's a free shuttle to and from the airport available for all guests, along with a laundry service and luggage storage. Breakfast is available every day, and you get to enjoy free Wi-Fi in every room. There's also a safe at the front desk if you need to store any valuables.
Another great value hotel is the Hyatt Place Dallas/Grapevine. This hotel offers a free breakfast buffet every morning, along with free Wi-Fi and free parking. Like the previous hotel, this one also features a free airport shuttle for all guests to take advantage of. Most facilities here work around the clock, like the fitness center, the business center and the front desk. Unlike most hotels in the area, dogs are allowed here, so don't hesitate to bring your furry friend along for the trip.
This incredible city is packed full of exciting attractions you can't afford to miss. Deciding where to start is hard enough, but deciding which was your favorite after all is said and done might be even harder.

Didn't go to Grapevine. Everything we needed was at Texan Gaylord!

I loved the shopping and Whataburger (a source of freshly cooked fries) was right across the street!

Kirby's Steakhouse was nice
Nice awesome location near the mall
Great city for investment
I really enjoyed the Grapevine Mills Mall- it had plenty of affordable shopping options and was surrounded by a variety of food options. Grapevine seems to be a diverse community, which made me feel welcomed and comfortable. All of my uber drivers in the area were fantastic- provided great information about the area, recommendations, even took scenic routes if that was an option I wanted to explore. The area is under quite a bit of construction, but also growth and development of the area/community. Traffic was not awful on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the mall area. It seemed like a pleasant place to live (although my stay was only 3 days and 4 nights).
Grapevine Mills Mall was my favorite.
The Messina Hof Grapevine Winery is a great location with great wine and hospitality.
Good selection of restaurants
So many options of activities for every age.
There is plenty to do in Grapevine for all ages. The Historic Main Street District is a must with countless shops and restaurants.
Easy access to restaurants, malls and the airport.
Grapevine's Historic Main Street District was a great area to walk around, grab a bite, do some shopping, and go wine tasting.
Overall, the city is very well kept with lots of nice entertainment, shops, restaurants, etc. We did not like that that e-cigarettes are allowed at the convention center we were visiting.
