It is an overall nice hotel with a great location in Monterey. But it has major deficiencies for a 4* claim. Here is what caused my relatively poor rating: Noise during night Mattress very soft. Pillows extremely soft Shower had no handle Patio was dirty No slippers ( really? even if they have a spa?) Old coffee maker.

Came to Monterey for a wedding. Good value with a perfect central location, parking, bar, restaurant and clean and comfortable, well appointed rooms. Public spaces were lovely and the staff was friendly and accomodating. We would stay here again.
