We had reservations at La Quinta in Austin. The computer system was "down" and the clerk had no way to accept hotel guests with prior confirmed reservations. There were about 20 people waiting in the lobby for over two and one half hours. Maybe the hotel could have assigned rooms on a log and had people return to the front desk when the computer system came back up? Comfort Suites down the street was able to get us a room. I rated my stay "average" because the plumbing in our room was defective and in need of repair. We are grateful that we had a room to sleep in.
