The Lakewood center is around the area of Fallen Firefighter Memorial Site and 1 mile northwest of Downtown Lakewood.
Because of Lakewood's proximity to Denver and the Rocky Mountains, skiers and snowboarders flock to the area during winter months. Hotel rates usually go up, unless you're visiting for winter sports, heavy snowfall and winter storms make this a particularly inhospitable season. Spring and fall are typically the best times to visit Lakewood, both for the weather and for the slightly less crowded atmosphere. Fall brings festivals and events in nearby Denver, so room rates might see a bit of a hike, but summer is typically more crowded and more expensive than spring or fall in Lakewood.

Below are reviews of the city of Lakewood, CO from an actual visitor's perspective.
Very close to Colorado Mills and hiking!
Lakewood is a great Denver suburb with lots to do and it is close to lots of other great places to visit
Lakewood is a hidden gem!
My adult son is a resident at the Learning Center facility. I wanted to be close enough to make it in time for meetings and staffing.
Great eating places and wonderful places to have a “cold -one!” Nice town!
The vibe in the Belmar section.
I was there to visit family member in hospital.
Lots of good resteraunts!
Road signs made it very easy to find our way around town. Bear Valley Shopping Center was close to the hotel and had a King Soopers with anything we could possibly need. Also there was a Denny's restaurant very close by with excellent food!
Proximity to St. Anthony's Hospital.
Close to nice restaurants. You can hike the trails at Green Mountain and enjoy water sports at the lake at Bear Creek.
Lakewood is beautiful, the hotel building is well maintained and clean, the city views of the mountains are very impressive. In general my whole brief stay there was very positive.
Lots of things to do. Easy access.
Lakewood is a great city… Lots to do… Close to Denver
Clean!
I like Lakewood. There are many places to visit and many shopping areas that are worthwhile. Also, the people are nice and trustworthy in Lakewood.
Quiet
St. Anthony is close, Simms Steak up the street, close to Hwy. 6, Mountains, Botanic Gardens, Cherry Creek.
Attended a 59 year anniversary party. Nice area.
Nice place, would visit again!
Near the wonderful Bear Creek Park with many amenities.
On west side of Denver near mountains, and the best part of the city.
Good location and Lakewood was nice.
Close to Gold Crown Gym for basketball games.
Lakewood was nice environment. The park only blocks away was very nice and clean. We saw a lot of people walking or walking their dogs. This time of the year, the weather was perfect; cloudy and in the high 70s to low 80s. It was a really nice place to go for a weekend basketball tournament. Cookout in the park. The roads were just a little confusing, weird turns, however, if you have a good GPS, it'll get you through.
Casa Bonita - once again on an annual choir tour.
Jefferson County Stadium was nice.
