Beaver Falls enjoys four seasons a year, from cold winters to warm springs and mild summers. Given its rural location, surrounded by forested hills, autumn in Beaver Falls really shines. The area tends to see the most precipitation (usually snow) December through February, and then heavier rainfall from April to June.
If you're visiting Beaver Falls, there are numerous local events worth checking out in Beaver Falls and neighboring towns throughout Beaver County, all year long. In January, locals look forward to the Beaver County Snow Shovel Riding Championship, a tradition that spans over 150 years. All ages can participate in a bid to clock the fastest time, sliding down a snowy 160-foot slope. There's also a Polar Plunge hat supports the Special Olympics.
Come in February for the tri-state area's biggest chili cook-off. April means the Maple Syrup Festival and all-you-can-eat-buttermilk or buckwheat pancakes. The event also features Civil War re-enactments, live music, and antique machinery displays. You can also pop into an open house at the Richmond Little Red School House building in nearby Beaver, PA. This one-room schoolhouse was built in 1844.
History lovers will love to visit during the Beaver County History Celebration Weekend in May, as many Beaver County historic sites offer living history demonstrations. June brings the Beaver County BOOM!, an annual fireworks festival on the Saturday before the Fourth of July.
August brings the Beaver County River Regatta, with a children's fishing derby, water ski show, boat races, and lighted boat parade, followed in September by the Beaver County BookFest literary festival and the Beaver Wine Festival. Beaver Falls' own Homewood Heritage Days Festival brings living history to the area with Civil War reenactments, period entertainment, music, car shows, and crafts. Then, Tails on the Trails Petwalk returns to Beaver Falls. The day of vendors, owner and pet contests, demonstrations, an auction, and more raises funds for homeless animals.
Come to town in November for the 1940s Hanger Dinner Dance, which honors all veterans. Guests enjoy a slow-cooked roast beef dinner while dancing to classic Big Band tunes by the Beaver Bop Cats. Later that month, you can't miss the annual Beaver Falls Lighted Christmas Parade, featuring floats, motorcycles, jeeps, and fire trucks decorated to celebrate the season. Children can also take a photo with Santa at the Art Center.

There isn't much in Beaver Falls - no restaurants to speak of, only one gas station. Unless you have specific reason for visiting the area, would recommend you expand to another area with more activity. We stayed in Mars PA (about 20 min away) which offered a lot more choices with regard to dining, lodging and other choices.
