The best time of year to visit Benton Harbor is in the late spring or early summer, generally between the months of May and July. During this time of year, Benton Harbor hosts a variety of outdoor markets and the Blossomtime Festival, an exciting annual event that you should be sure to experience for yourself. The mild temperatures during this time of the year cause visitors to flock to Benton Harbor, which can make it hard to find a room and may increase rates. Be sure to make your reservation as soon as possible so that you can secure your room at a more affordable rate.
If you want to beat the crowds and ensure you can have a great time in Benton Harbor, you might consider going earlier or later in the year. Similarly, if you book a trip during March or April, you won't have to compete with vacationers trying to take advantage of the warm weather.
Winter can also be a great time to visit Benton Harbor, provided you don't mind the cold. Because the town is located on a river, it can experience lake-effect snow, which leads to great skiing at nearby resorts like Swiss Valley and Timber Ridge. Also, because of the cold weather, there will be much fewer visitors, meaning you'll have better access to hotel rooms.
