If you like History and want to be able to tell a story about your stay, the Historic Menger Hotel is the place to stay. From their great location, just minutes from the RiverWalk and Convention Center to their high ceiling, stained glass window in the ceiling of the foyer to the Restaurant to the Historic Alamo the Menger has it all. The high ceilings and arched molding in the restaurant makes you want to stay for a while. The food is very tasty and affordable. Nothing compares to the Breakfast buffet with made to order omelets and waffles. One thing you don't see these days are telephone booths, if you want to step back in time get some change and make a call. If relaxation is what you are looking for The Alamo Spa should be on your must do list. Because of its great history and yes a little mystery the hotel is World Renowned and featured often for their none paying guest, how ghostly? Whether you are travelling for business or pleasure the Menger is the place to stay. Their friendly staff will assist you with your arrangements.

We've had a delightful experience. The reservation process was easy and efficient. The hotel is clean, comfortable, attractive and historically interesting. It's central location near the Alamo and Riverwalk are a real plus. Glad we stayed here.

Wonderfully restored and maintained historic hotel, they have kept everything as original as possible. The bed was comfortable as were the rooms as almost soundproof, I'm a light sleeper. We were there for Fiesta which included a few cocktails and people tend to laugh and have fun in the hallways but I could not hear any of the other guests. The Sunday brunch is a must the buffet tables were kept immaculate, the food was kept fresh. I will stay here again with no doubt in my mind.

Historic hotel built in 1859 across the street from the Alamo. There is the original historic, antique wing. Rooms have antique furnishings, keeping the integrity of the Victorian era. There are two more newer wings, where rooms have more modern, contemporary decor.
