The most popular attraction in the state of Utah, Temple Square attracts millions of visitors each year. Located in the heart of Salt Lake City, Temple Square occupies an entire city block. Guests enter Temple Square through the wrought iron gates that surround all four sides of the complex.Many magnificent attractions are located within historic Temple Square. The Mormon Temple is probably the most famous, with a brilliant white façade and spectacular spires atop the temple. Only Latter-Day Saints church members may enter the Mormon Temple but all are welcome to admire its beauty from outside. The Mormon Tabernacle—home to the world-famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir—is adjacent to the Mormon Temple. The 12,000-pipe Mormon Tabernacle Organ is played daily during scheduled organ recitals and demonstrates the exceptional acoustics within the beautiful edifice. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir performs weekly in the Tabernacle.Tourists of Temple Square can also access Assembly Hall, mostly used for the Temple Square Concert Series on Friday and Saturday nights. Two visitor centers, various monuments, and a statuary can also be seen in Temple Square. Temple Square is open daily from 9 am to 9 pm and admission is free. Mormon women cheerfully greet visitors at every gate and all guests are welcome to take one of the guided tours every 10 minutes.
