The climate in Canton includes quite a bit of precipitation throughout the year. There are about 221 days of sunshine, intermixed with approximately 53 inches of rain and two inches of snow every year. During the summer months, the humidity levels are very high, so if you don't want to experience the excess moisture in the air, steer clear from June to September.
Tourism tends to be higher during the summer when families take more vacations and the kids have a break from school, so hotel rates may be higher during this time. It gets chilly during the winter, with average lows in the 30-degree range. If you don't mind the cold, you can save on lodging during this season.
Canton doesn't host any major events, although local happenings include the annual Veteran's Day parade, holiday events, and other smaller things going on in the town. These won't typically impact the cost of hotels too drastically since they often bring local crowds but not as many people from around the state.

Attended grandson's wedding. The park across the street from the hotel was beautiful.
We liked The Old Mill Restaurant! Recommend!
The room, lobby, bar and breakfast room were clean and comfortable. The historic Canton is just up the street and the five or six restaurants there are, in my opinion, all 5 stars in their own right.
Close to a lot of activities and food.
Went to a wedding at the nearby horse rescue farm. It was a beautiful venue.
Food choices are nearby.
The dog park that is in walking distance of the hotel was a nice surprise.
