Brigham Circle is where you will find a grocery store, drug store and various banks and eateries. While in Mission Hill, one can visit Kevin W. Fitzgerald Park, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica and the Parker Hill Library which was designed in 1929. Stop off at the playground next to the library if you have children with you; they're sure to enjoy it! Walking through the neighborhood, you can see many examples of Greek art and architecture in the various churches.
Development in the neighborhood came by way of triple-deckers which are now being renovated into condominiums. Amidst these developments are student apartments, public housing, lofts and even houses. Perhaps one of the most culturally diverse neighborhoods in all of Boston, Mission Hill is a comprised of a mixture of white, Asian, Hispanic and African-American residents living in peaceful harmony.
If you are interested in the history of Mission Hill, watch the documentary titled "Mission Hill and the Miracle of Boston" released in 1978. The film gives a good explanation of urban renewal in Boston.
