Air conditioner didn't work, room had bugs on floor, sheets, bathroom. Torn dirty sheets on the bed. We left and eent to Best Western.

The staff was very nice and the room was clean and comfortable. It is located conveniently downtown close to many businesses. Continental breakfast is offered and Village Inn is only steps away. The price was nice for a place to base out of for a two night visit to the area. Pet friendly.

Centrally located within walking distance of the majority of restaurants and buisnesses of Canon City. Grocery store is less than a block away too. Rooms have been just recently renovated and you can request a room with a microwave and small refrigerator. The motel has very recently undergone a change of staffing and the very friendly staff are more than willing to help you in any way we can. We are also adding many changes and renovations to make your stay a very pleasurable one. We offer a complimentary continental breakfast with cereal, orange juice, apple juice, milk, hot chocolate, coffee, English muffins, and a variety of muffins. We also offer free high speed wireless internet and children stay free!0The Royal Gorge Bridge 1,000 feet above the Arkansas River with all the attractions, Royal Gorge Train with vintage locomotives and cars taking you through the 1,000ft deep gorge, Dinosaur Depot, Holy Cross Abbey where the monks still make fabulous wines and you can take a visit/taste/buy, and the Arkansas River for fishing, kayaking, and rafting are within two miles or less from motel. Excellent variety of restraunts nearby and even a good microbrewery/restaurant in downtown Canon City. The old original Colorado Territory''s Prison also is just down a couple of miles and while still operational also offers a tour of the musuem. We are nearby the canyons and the mountains with views of the Wet Mountains, cliffs, and buttes. Half of our rooms face the mountains and the weather her is generally mild compared to the areas around us. It is a protected area by the way the mountains are and we are shielded from much of the weather making Canon City a wonderful place to explore almost year round. Temperatures rarely go below the teens and very rarely get more than a few inches of snow at any given time in the winter. In a day or two it is all melted yet the mountains around us stay snowy much of the winter. Summer can be a little hot and very dry. Drink lots of water year round when staying here due to altitude and the dry air. Canon City is a rather small quiet town that is a retirement town with the main employment being the prison facilities located a few miles out of town...and Territorial just outside of downtown. The town and surrounding area is great for walking, hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, riding bikes, kayaking, rafting, rock hounding, fossils, arrowheads, scenery, etc. We also have a few casinos and a wolf refuge within an hour and a half drive through beautiful scenery.
