Property Description

The convent complex of Santa Vittoria has linked its affairs, since its foundation in 1292, to those of the surrounding territory, characterizing itself as a meeting and welcoming place, both for the local population and for foreigners, before and after its passage from religious to civil structure.Popular tradition has it that the Convent of Santa Vittoria was founded by Saint Francis of Assisi who, on one of his solitary journeys that led him to cross the Marche, came across a monstrous creature with the features of a large snake that managed to kill with "prodigious victory". In memory of this fact the complex was dedicated to Santa Vittoria Martire. The Convent of Santa Vittoria is a place that belongs to the historical and cultural memory of Fratte Rosa, a small village in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, which dominates the hills that form the watershed between the valleys of Cesano and Metauro, preserving that deep link with the natural environment after having found in this a precious resource, to be cultivated and shaped, to guarantee the subsistence of one's collective and social life. The land has always been the element around which the work of this small rural community revolves, linked to agriculture and the cultivation of those products that have then become typical as the fairytale of Fratte Rosa (legume to eat fresh or dry and which is also obtained from the flour) that prefers a clayey soil rich in minerals such as phosphorus and silicon, which characterizes the chemical and structural conformation of these territories. And it was precisely because of this type of land, sandy and soft during the winter months, dry and resistant when the sun warms it in the summer, that men have started to shape it, to make tools for work, furnishings and pottery for domestic life and bricks for their homes.Terracotta is certainly the product of local craftsmanship that best tells the story of Fratte Rosa, a work that has been present since the eighteenth century, where the art of working clay on the lathe, its double cooking (in the sun and in the oven) and of his enamelling began to be handed down from father to son, to arrive to our days as a heritage and tangible testimony of the local culture. To this precious element is dedicated the Terracotta Museum inside the structure, for which there are 4 communicating rooms and different display cases inside the Church. The Church is very large and spacious, can hold up to 100 seats, for your religious or civil rite. The outdoor garden offers a breathtaking and fairytale view over the entire Metauro valley to the Adriatic Sea: a romantic Gazebo will be the scene of your YES! Aperitifs, buffet appetizers or a beautiful reception in country style and shabby chic find the ideal location, on these rolling hills in warm colors kissed by the sunset.Locanda del Convento restaurant can host up to 80 people, equipped with an open kitchen with brand new and latest generation equipment, easy to reach for the catering you want to choose.Pride of place is the Cloister, where history and beauty meet modern services and a fairytale reception can be served: it is possible to equip it with a tensile structure.Upstairs are the large dorms with shared bathrooms, to accommodate groups of friends and relatives during the days of the event, for a special bachelorette / bachelorette party and for a stay of relaxation and nature.
