We were delighted with most of our stay at The Williams Inn on the night of 8/6/24. The hotel is in a wonderful location just on the edge of town and within walking distance from Williams College, including the theater and museum and The Clark Art Museum. The room was lovely; well appointed for a short stay; and very clean. And, except for the restaurant, the staff were focused and thoughtful. I note, in particular, the receptionists and the woman who serviced the coffee machines on the guest floors. They could not have been more helpful. Our experience with the restaurant was not good. On prior trips to Williamstown, we have frequently stopped by Tunnel Cafe for coffee and/or breakfast. However because the hotel offered us a voucher for a breakfast for two in the restaurant, we initially went to the restaurant in the Inn instead. While only a few tables were occupied, the overworked and stressed out maitre d' told us to sit in the waiting area and wait for a table to be cleared. At that time, half of the tables in the restaurant were cleared and waiting for customers. So after a while we told him that we were in a hurry for an appointment. To make this short (much shorter than our aggravating 20 minute wait in the restaurant), we were finally seated and we were given water; but our breakfast was never delivered. Although there were many appetizing choices on the menu, we had selected 'overnight oats'because there would be no prep time; it would just be taken from the fridge. The overworked and underprepared maitre d' and one wait staff told us that we had to wait until the four tables ahead of us were served. After approximately 20 minutes, we left and walked to Tunnel Cafe where we had a nice breakfast.

The Williams Inn offers a fine tradition of warm New England Hospitality. We are conveniently located in the northwest corner of Massachusetts. Located at the junction of Route 2 (the Mohawk Trail) and Route 7 (North-South - from Vermont to Connecticut). We are positioned on the beautiful campus of Williams College, facing the Village Green.
