Property description
Originally built as a New Forest hunting lodge the Grade II listed Bartley Lodge was also once the home of the famous geologist Charles Lyell. Inside guests can relax in comfy sofas next to an open fire in the Gallery Lounge spend time in the cosy Hunters Bar and on a warm summers evening enjoy the terrace. The forty bedrooms come in four room categories named after New Forest professions. The Agister rooms are standard bedrooms with en-suite bath or shower room flat screen TV iron with ironing board tea/coffee making facilities and complimentary toiletries. Keeper rooms are smaller with a cosy ambience whilst the Verderer rooms are more spacious. The Crown Rooms are executive rooms some with four poster beds all with additional luxuries of an iPod docking station bath robes slippers and speciality teas. Large enough to accommodate a wheelchair one of the bedrooms has a bathroom designed like a wet room with large shower area bath with support rails and low level toilet and sinkFor weddings the hotel holds a civil ceremony licence for the elegant Wedgewood blue Crystal Room opening out into the Orangery and the grand Baronial Hall with chandeliers and classic oak panelled walls.Leisure facilities include an indoor swimming pool and Nordic sauna whilst local therapists from Time to Unwind visit the hotel to offer relaxing massages including aromatherapy and reflexology.Free Wi-Fi and free parking on site. Dogs can stay for a small fee.Part of the New Forest Hotels Group.
