We are the closest town to the famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing, and transport is available daily from Parklands Motor Lodge. Over the winter months we become a central haven for those planning a skiing holiday on Mt Ruapehu. Parklands Motor Lodge motel is less than one hour from Whakapapa Ski field, and the local thermal pools are a popular destination after a day on the mountain. Whether you are into trout fishing, white water rafting, mountain biking, or hiking, the Turangi region is a stunningly beautiful part of the country to enjoy the outdoors.
