Directions from checking in, to the Chamberlain House, were very confusing and difficult for me, especially since I have mobility issues. I was sent downstairs (no elevator)and them up an incline when I could have easily gone out front door and right next door. Ran into Luis (staff member) who was helpful with helping us find our room. Also, for such a large place, it is unusual not to have an area large enough for 6 people to gather to have their coffee and pastry. We eventually found a spot to gather upstairs (again, no elevator and difficulty managing stairs while carrying coffee and pastry). Dinner in Tap Room was excellent.

Beautiful location and grounds, everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Rooms in the back could use a little TLC and mini fridges but they are nice and comfortable.

For those of us who spent years at Camp Robinson Crusoe in Sturbridge, any and all times spent at the Publick House, whether at the Inn or the Lodge, qualify as a memorable success. This time was no different. The kindness and hospitality of staff remain a constant and ensure that I'll return every time I'm visiting in the neighborhood or even when as far away as Tanglewood.

The Publick House Historic Inn and Country Motor Lodge is situated at the crossroads of New England on 60 acres of countryside, minutes from I-90 and I-84. Bult in 1771, the Publick House maintains its 18th century ambiance while providing 21st century comforts. All twenty three rooms in the Inn and Chamberlain House are decorated with period furnishings and offer private baths. The Country Motor Lodge's nintey six guestrooms overlook the outdoor pool, tennis courts and apple orchard. Dine where Col. Ebeneezer Crafts entertained his revolutionary troops in the mid 1700's. Traditional New England far continues to be served in authentic dining rooms at the inn. After 230 years, classic favorites have been given a modern twist. Lighter fare is available at the Ebeneezer's Tavern. The Bake Shoppe offers something for every taste. Crunchy, flaky, sweet, tart, sticky, wholesome, tempting and all freshly baked at the Publick House. We have the perfect fit for any corporate function, family gathering or group in our twelve meeting rooms. The Publick Houe can accomoodate groups of 2-250.
