Below are reviews of the city of Reykjavik, Iceland from an actual visitor's perspective.
Hip town! Loved learning about the history.
The Lava Show (close by) was great! The city has a lot of restaurants and gift shops. The vibe was great.
Reykjavik has an interesting downtown. I wish I had more time to explore. We were fortunate to have chanced upon Messinn Seafood Restaurant. We had the most unforgettable meal, better than any meal we had eaten at the NCL Prima.
The shops nearby provided all that we wanted for souvenirs and were not overwhelming with cheap materials. Rather, we found the items available to be good quality. The restaurants and bars were clean and the food and beverages were a delight. The hotel was closely located to key sights of the city that allowed us to walk everywhere.
We had a tour guide who took us to the Cathedral and the waterfront. The room was very comfortable and clean.
Awesome city!
The capital city Reykjavik is expanding its meetings infrastructure and evolving into a premiere location choice for congress and incentive planners, only three hours from mainland Europe and five hours from North America. Reykjavík was named the World Festival and Event City by the International Festivals and Events Association. Organizing meetings and conferences is easy in Iceland. It is a vibrant city with an excellent infrastructure, which means access to cutting edge technology, inspiring meeting venues and warm hospitable people willing and able to render the best service. Furthermore, if you wish to offer a unique experience to your meeting delegates, Reykjavik offers spouting geysers, cascading waterfalls, intriguing lava fields, Northern Lights and midnight sun experience!
The atmosphere when staying in Reykjavik is perfect and so are the Icelandic people too. Big shopping center, visited Hallgrímskirkja and Harpa – Reykjavik Concert Hall and Conference Centre and enjoyed eating at the restaurant Perlan.
No international restaurant chains. Food was terrific!
