The Shelbourne Sonests is a rare gem. My husband was having surgery at NYU langone and we were very nervous. We arrived the night before surgery at the Sonesta.

First time staying here and was very pleasantly surprised. Lovely boutique hotel. Room was well appointed. High ceilings and muted colors a quiet refuge from the nyc pace. Only thing that I would recommend is grab bars in shower/tubs. Friendly and attentive doorman and front desk attendants. Lovely restaurant. All in all a wonderful surprise retreat.
