A facility unlike many others, the Alamodome in downtown San Antonio, Texas, serves as both a convention center and performance and sports center. Boasting approximately 160,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit floor space and a dome structure, the Alamodome has the unique distinction of column-free spans, which allows for spectators to have clear views of the action.There's never a shortage of things to do and see—the Alamodome can accommodate a number of activities. From sports such as basketball, soccer, and football, to performance spectaculars such as ice shows, concerts, and the ever-popular Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus, the Alamodome has the seating and flexibility it takes to serve as a recreation powerhouse. In fact, special events at the Alamodome include the Professional Bull Riding Ford County Classic show, Disney's High School Musical: The Ice Tour, and a Notre Dame football game.The Alamodome also features seven event spaces and two dining spaces, where smaller functions may be held. With a maximum event space of 5,000 square feet and dining accommodations for up to 250 guests, these areas are the perfect place to hold private parties and events, or more formal meetings and lectures.
