Macon boasts gorgeous summer weather, which also means that crowds of tourists flock to the city in the summer months. You can avoid crowds and often find deals on travel and hotels if you plan your visit to Macon for the autumn or winter. Just make sure you take a sweater with you!
March through May has moderate temperatures, increasing in the later spring months. You're also likely to encounter some rain in the spring. It's the second-busiest period for tourism, so you'll find lots to do, though you may also encounter larger crowds and higher accommodation prices.
Summer in Macon, from June through August, draws visitors with its warmer weather. You'll encounter moderate rainfall, and some days get very warm. As the busiest season in Macon, summer tends to bring the highest prices for accommodations along with those rising temperatures.
Autumn is the slowest time in Macon when it comes to tourism, so consider a trip in September through November to lock in lower prices. You'll also have comfortable weather; temperature highs start dropping from the low 90s to the upper 60s in the fall.
December through February also marks a slow period for tourism in Macon. The winter months are colder, and though you won't find much snow, you should prepare for a high possibility of rain.
