Long Beach's climate is relatively steady, like many Southern California cities. You can expect temperate weather year-round; summer highs are between 70 and 80 degrees, and winter highs typically fall between 67 and 73 degrees. May and October are popular months to visit California because the weather is at its most beautiful, but you might see an influx of tourists during this time. Because of Long Beach's consistent weather, however, it doesn't have a high and low season the same way other cities do.
When visiting Long Beach, pay attention to the festivals and special weekends happening around the days you want to book. Events like the Long Beach Grand Prix Auto Race and the Long Beach Marathon can cause hotel rates to climb considerably.

Weather! Not so crowded.
The weather was beautiful - well except it was a little muggy on Saturday. The road construction around the hotel was a little difficult when arriving at 3am on Friday morning (we had to go around the back-way and through the residential area to get to the hotel - but those in my group who arrived at the "normal" times did not have any issues with the road construction). Having an Outback right across the parking lot was a convenience (and an alternative to eating at the hotel although the meals at the Sonoma Grill were wonderful)!
Long beach is an old city and has many cultures which makes it pleasant to visit. Was
