Hotel Yountville is luxurious (and expensive). It has beautiful grounds and very comfortable rooms. We used to stay there but hadn't for a couple of years, so I did notice some changes. It appears that they are trying to economize in a few ways. Previously, guests were welcomed with a bottle of wine in their room. Not anymore. Previously, the bedtime chocolate was from a wonderful artisan chocolate company. Now it's a piece with the hotels name on it, which would be fine, but it was salted. I'm not a fan of salt on chocolate. Previously, there were newspapers available at breakfast. Not anymore. It's still a lovely place, but these changes have occurred.
