Kansas City, MO in a nutshell

Kansas City is a large city in Missouri who is also set on the border of the state of Kansas. A busy metropolis, it is surprisingly timid in its approach to attract tourists. It is not that the city is against tourists but it seems that tourism is not a priority here. Still, one can find extensive networks of boulevards with beautiful fountains all over the city . these alone could make the city a major draw for tourists no matter if the city does not try hard to do it. The contemporary Kauffman Center is a good place to watch various shows and performances. This is the venue for the city's opera and theater scene. Other cultural venues include the Music Hall, The Midland by AMC, and Starlight Theatre. Jazz is also a big part of the culture of the city so that you should not miss visiting venues that offer live jazz music. These are easy to find, actually, as even the restaurants feature live jazz performances on a nightly basis. Other must-see attractions or landmarks in Kansas City include the Liberty Memorial, Kansas City Museum, Worlds of Fun, Kansas City Zoo, and the Science City at Union Station.

'Always keep yourself engaged, in theater, in whatever job you can get- these are the words of Ed Asner, one of the famous actors & political activists of Kansas City.

Kansas City is an old railroad town that has grown up to have great sports, music, food and a sense of hometown pride. There is so much to do there from the Nelson Art Museum to the beautiful zoo, to eating the best BBQ in the US (pick any place, they're all great). With a history rich in African American harlem renaissance culture with blues & jazz at 18th & Vine to the Crossroads Arts District, it's more than just a flyover midwest town. It's a midwest destination.
