I had planned a nice birthday weekend for my wife and stayed at the Aloft Durham Downtown. Unfortunately neither of us were able to get a decent nights sleep for two reasons. One was the pillows were paper thin and incredibly uncomfortable. Second, there is an active railroad nearby with trains running all night and the windows are not sound proof whatsoever so multiple times during the time we are woken up to a train horn blaring.
